MYcourier Inc.’s Founder and CEO, Moatassem Moatez, Named 2022 Entrepreneur of the Year

In June 2022, the MYcourier, Inc. team cheered on as company Founder and CEO, Moatassem Moatez, accepted the Entrepreneur of the Year Award at the Oakville Awards for Business Excellence (OABE).
While starting MYcourier amidst the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, Moatassem took on a variety of roles, including delivery courier, customer service representative, and marketing director, to build up the organization to where it stands today.
In a span of only two years, MYcourier has employed over 70 drivers, more than 110 employees, and has built a sustainable partnership with mega e-retailer, Amazon.

In 2004, Moatassem started his professional career by working for multinational corporations, such as Unilever and Nestle.
In 2012, Moatassem co-founded his first start-up venture, MORE Ltd, a loyalty and rewards program. The program secured a partnership with a leading technology communications company, Vodafone, and propelled a number of successful startups within the Middle East.
In 2019, Moatassem saw an opportunity to bring his skills and expertise to the North American market and relocated his family to Oakville, Ontario, Canada. When the COVID-19 pandemic struck employers in 2020, Moatassem felt the pressure of local retailers who had no last-mile delivery capabilities.
With a solution in mind, Moatassem reached out to his local businesses and started delivering on his own. Three months later, Moatassem saw the value that he could provide to the delivery industry and launched MYcourier Inc.
The rest, they say, is history.
The Entrepreneur of the Year Award recognizes an individual who exhibits extraordinary entrepreneurship, energy, inspiration, leadership and/or innovation in their business pursuits.
In announcing Moatassem as the winner of the Entrepreneur of the Year Award, the Oakville Chamber of Commerce acknowledged the positive impact Moatassem and MYcourier had in times of uncertainty for both local businesses and employers.

When accepting the Entrepreneur of the Year Award, Moatassem spoke up about the importance of prioritizing exceptional customer service, and the inspiration that came from the strength and resilience he witnessed in his own community amidst the COVID-19 pandemic.
“What I had to say at the OABE’s came from the heart. Covid hit REALLY hard like a curveball to all of us. I hope that whatever I said gave a little bit of hope to people that are still trying to receive the pitch.
